Back to TopCustom Domains & Redirection
How do I publish my site?
1. Your website is live when you hit Publish in the Customization Tools and visit your mobile domain at yoursite.bmobilized.com.
2. Adding a Redirection Script is important to ensure that visitors to your desktop site, on a mobile phone, will be redirected to your mobile site automatically.
Importantly, the Redirection Script changes if you specify a Custom Domain. If you don't want a Custom Domain for your site (i.e. just keep yoursite.bmobilized.com) then simply copy the Redirection Script from the bMobilized Dashboard, and paste it into the Head section(s) of your desktop site. If you do want to set up a Custom Domain for your website, do that first, and then copy and paste the Redirection Script into your site.
3. To set up an optional Custom Domain name (such as m.yoursite.com), go to the Dashboard and specify the Custom Domain under Settings.
4. Finally, log into your domain provider for yoursite.com, and navigate to your advanced DNS settings. Once there, add a CNAME alias (shortcut) pointing 'm' to 'yoursite.bmobilized.com'. You could also use 'mobile', or 'touch, or any other CNAME alias you like, but popularly people use 'm' for mobile.
Back to TopCan I customize the domain name of my mobile site?
Yes, you can specify a Custom Domain name in the bMobilized Dashboard. Commonly, people use m.yoursite.com. For example, if your normal domain name were google.com, then you would specify m.google.com, in the bMobilized Dashboard. In order to make your Custom Domain active on the web, you need to add a CNAME alias in your advanced DNS settings, adding 'm' as the alias, and pointing it to 'yoursite.bmobilized.com'.
Back to TopDo I need to have a Custom Domain?
Technically no, but from a marketing perspective it is usually a good idea for your business to have a unique mobile domain, like m.yoursite.com. By default, your site is published at yoursite.bmobilized.com.
Back to TopDo you sell Custom Domains?
Unfortunately no, which is why we recommend using m.yoursite.com as a Custom Domain. Since this is a sub-domain of the domain you already own (yoursite.com), there should be no additional cost to you to set it up.
Back to TopCan I redirect mobile users arriving at my desktop website to my mobile website?
Yes, for each site you mobilize, we provide you with a Redirection Script that can be placed in the Head section(s) of your desktop website. When a mobile device reaches your desktop page(s), the Redirection Script automatically redirects them to your proper mobile site.
It is important to note that the Redirection Script changes if you specify a Custom Domain name for your mobile website. When setting up a Custom Domain, make sure to implement the Redirection Script on your desktop site after the Custom Domain has been specified on the Dashboard.
Back to TopDo I need to add the Redirection Script to every page?
Not necessarily. You may wish to add the Redirection Script only to certain pages, like your Homepage, and then a selection of pages that are relevant for your mobile users, like your Contact Us page.
Back to TopHow do I see if my website is redirecting?
Test it with a mobile device! Alternately, you can install a user-agent extension for your browser that will spoof your browser as a mobile device. Or, if you feel like getting really fancy, we use either Apple’s Official iOS Simulator, or Google’s official Android Emulator.

Back to TopWhen I try and to add a plug in to just one page, it adds it to all pages instead. Why?
Changes made in the section marked Website are applied to every page within your mobile website. So if you add a plug in while in the Website section, you will add that plug in to every page in your site. To add a plug in (or make any change) to just one page, select that page under the Pages section and make the chance there.
Back to TopCan I mobilize a site done entirely in Flash?
No. Flash websites are not supported by our platform. We do support dynamic web content of all sorts, and it’s ok to have flash banners or animations running on part of your pages, but your menus and main content cannot be in Flash.
Back to TopMy content is not displaying. Why?
If your body content is done in Flash, or composed with heavy JavaScript, the contents may not be extractable for your mobile version.
Back to TopI get an error 502 message, what does that mean?
The error 502 message is our version of the error 404 message. This is a HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server, but the server could not find what was requested.
Back to TopMy content does not highlight in green?
Our content system is looking for content Div tags. If there is complex Flash or JavaScript, you may need to choose a different part of your page to “Select as Content”.
